question on population
just wondering --does any one remember the estimate of how many folks there are in aikido worldwide or in the US? once upon a time I thought I knew but now I'm stumpedquestion on population

After spending a few minutes on Google, 1.5 million practitioners worldwide was a common number. AikiWeb might be a good place to check as well.

thanks Kyle --I must have been asking the wrong question when I searched online -- i just kept going onthe goose chase if you know what I mean

I know exactly what you mean.
One thing that you can do when searching is using "+" & "-" on terms. For example, searching for:
aikido oklahoma city (120,000 results)
is different than
+aikido +"Oklahoma City" (24,100 results)
The plus sign means the word after it must appear in the site. A minus sign means the word cannot appear in the site.
Enclosing something in quotes means they must appear together. If I type Oklahoma City as a search, anything with Oklahoma and City is fair game. But "Oklahoma City" would return just things in OKC.
Just another way to weed out stuff.
