Does anyone know, is there any better judo reference out there? This one's okay, but's it's pretty ugly, and some of the images aren't great... (I'm tempted to design my own).

I think you should design your own. Why stop at taking over youtube? Lets take over the entire internet. 😎

There might be better ones, but I haven't found them. JudoInfo.com is the oldest & most comprehensive. There was a major facelift planned a couple of years ago but I don't believe it ever happened.

My favorite part of judoinfo.com is the page where it it links to quick videos of specific techniques (http://www.judoinfo.com/gokyo1.htm). This was very useful for me when I first started, and I was trying to learn the names of the throws. The downside with using this page was that they aren't setting up the throws the same way that we do.

I also have experience with building databases and webpages, and I would be happy to contribute if you guys are interested in setting up something like this.

We'll be working on basic throwing lessons for YouTube within the coming months. We're going to focus on grappling for a little bit, or advanced throwing. I am debating a few visual aids for getting the best transmission of throwing material. We experimented with some extreme camera angles that should turn out some unique video for grappling.

Yeah, that was predominantly my favorite part about judoinfo, too. Heck, I still use it for reference now and then, at least the throws. It's crap for referencing ground stuff....
