a nice note i just got from europe---

Dear sensei Nick,

only a few weeks ago I downloaded the paired walking and the Judo principle videos about Judo kuzushi. About three weeks ago I began to apply it in my adult training group and it already shows first big efforts. We found out that you can do any(!) kind of Judo throw using the patterns shown in the video. Especially the push-pull action can be applied for single legged koshi waza techniques like harai goshi, hane goshi and koshi uchi uchi mata perfectly. My students told me that it felt like a big ocean wave coming at them right out of nowhere which they couldn't stop.
The best thing about it is that even those Judoka who don't have big strength in their arms (any more) can use it without any problems. I refer to a 76 year old student (1st Dan) in my group. He found this kind of kuzushi really amazing because it really works so fine that he couldn't believe it at first.
We'll keep on training those patterns and if you like I can keep you informed. Next thing will be that I'll try to teach it in a children's group. I will try to make the paired walking a game so that they learn in a way which is fun to them.

Neat! I'd love to hear about how well this goes over with the kids' class. Working with kids feels so chaotic sometimes.
