I've been talking with Dan Martin about getting a playday together in April. It's our turn to visit them. Anybody have a date that is totally out?

I don't even know my schedule for next week and you want me to think about april, come on man. 😉

That's why I'm asking now! If there's nothing off-limits (weddings, sports events, family reunions, etc) then everything is fair game. I'd like to get as many folks as possible to make the trip to see Dan & company.

I wanted to find out, since April is when the tax man wants his pound of flesh. I'm not sure if before or after the 17th (this year, since the 15th is a weekend) would be better or worse for anyone.

For those not in the loop, we leave Friday after work, usually from the dojo. We often stop in Shawnee for some McDonalds, and once more before we hit Russellville. We arrive about 10-11pm, sleep on the mat, wake up & go to Cracker Barrel for breakfast, play Judo until people decide they want lunch (or not), have lunch (or not), play some more in the afternoon until we just don't want any more Judo, drive to Ft. Smith & eat at Chili's, and get home around 10pm or so.

My next round of classes begin in march. I'll have a better idea then, but more than likely I'll be on top of a pole hanging from two hooks and a leather strap while you guys are having fun.

I have to help sponsor Prom on April 28... not that I'll be unshackled for a road trip on any other day.

Not 100%, but it's looking like Saturday April 28th.

Augh! Don't pick the one weekend Chris W. can't go! The dude has never been to one. He NEEDS to go.

I think I might be able to go, though (daddy has earned a little time away... Whoo-hoo!) I can do pretty much any weekend.

What about "The Rick"? He drivin' again?

Anyone from the evening classes show any interest?

I haven't really started pushing playday yet. Next week, once clinic is over, might be a whole different story.

The nice thing about playday is it switches locations. Next time around, the Russellville crowd gets to travel here.

I have talked with Rick, and I believe he will be available to drive.

I talked with Dan Martin this weekend, and we will be shooting for April 28th.

Looks like Rick won't be driving. Grace has some awards thing that night, so he won't be able to make it.

I don't know what the odds are of changing the date. It's early enough we might be able to, but then we're looking at May. May means finals & graduation, and with a college in Russellville that might hurt a bit.

Thus far a few folks have expressed interest, but nobody's talked to me that they are 100% going.

I will have a sign-up sheet for playday at the dojo on Tuesday night. If you plan on going, please put your name & a phone number on the list.

I will drive, and can haul up to 3 additional people. If we have bad weather, the back might be a little cramped or cut it back to carrying two additional people.

Just got in, and wanted to say thanks to Sean Ashby & Gant Estes for making the trip. The turnout was smaller than normal, but we had a great time anyway!

It will be our turn to host the next Judo playday, so start thinking about dates. June is bad because of clinic in Houston.
