Judo Highlight (odd throw)
I posted this guy's highlight because he has an odd tokui waza -- it's part sode tusri, part kata guruma and part, leg grabbing. I've seen a similar variation go by the name of katate tsuri nage (single hand pulling throw), but I know little about it.

Anyone have any thoughts or analysis about this ?

That is weird
Not one I've seen. Almost looks like something he might have ended up doing on accident, and then kept getting successful with it. Of course, I'd like to see him do it on a big dude...

(He also seems to have quite a bit of luck with what looks to me like tai otoshi and, failing that, a little scooping sukui nage).

One thing I hate about the YouTube format of video is, unlike Quicktime, I can't pause it and use my arrow keys to advance the movie frame by frame, so I can scrutinize what's going on.

It does have that weird sort of tai-otoshi, sort of kata-guruma thing working. The interesting thing is how he secures uke's leg in the goofy kata-guruma-like phase of the throw. The effect was sometimes a rolling effect like you see in uki-goshi, as compared to the throwing forward effect seen in o-goshi.

I don't see it as being incredibly practical. I'd like to see him do it with a bigger guy as well.
