Miyake showed the latest official Kodokan release, which I don't think is even available in the US yet. The format had changed dramatically from when she taught it in the mid 90's. Lots of strength & power are preferred in the demonstration now.
The emphasis at the most recent clinic was to have more of an Aikido feel to it. Constant motion, flowing with the attacker's energy rather than confronting it head on. This has a little different feel than the staccato way it's shown in the videos above. I think most everyone at the clinic preferred the constant motion and found it easier to do. I can see blocking techniques out as 1, pause, 2, pause, 3... but at some point it needs to become a seamless 1-2-3.
