The Fragility of Balance
These past weeks' lessons have made me consider 'balance' in a number of lights. While on the mat we're focusing on the illusion of physical stability and how to topple it with as little effort as possible.

I found a story that isn't about aikido or martial arts or even about falling down, but a mental story of how dubious social stability can be and how to disrupt it easily. It fit with where my head's been this week. I thought others might like to read it as well.

The author is a long-time NYC bouncer. Expect language to match.

Interesting article. The social system is an amazing study.
