renzoku-no-kata
I dont know where this comes from or who invented it--but it is worth taking a look at--
very smooth -- the reversal thing is a bit odd -- but still so smooth -- i find it mesmerising

Renzoku translates as continuous, continuing or in succession. Renraku is typically taken to mean continuing an attack from one technique to another. Renzoku might mean to try a tai-otoshi, it doesn't work, and try tai-otoshi again. Renraku might mean to try an ouchi-gari, it doesn't work, so shift an execute uchi-mata.
I couldn't find much of anything on this kata. It isn't one of the officially recognized katas at the Kodokan. Most references to it were on European sites. Using Google, I was able to narrow the search from 7,720 results to 280 results by excluding terms. I was unable to find a listing for this kata, it's sequence of techniques as a learning tool, nothing.

Watching that video makes me dizzy. It looks like it is running backwards in some places and it confuses me. 😕

That's one of the things I find so neat about it. It looks like quite an athletic feat, to throw so slowly and with the reversals.
reminds me of the same ground elements you mention kyle and also throwing as in ju no kata/ soft zdenick style -- the reversal thing is kinda disorienting to me too derek -- the folks who came up with it are taking heat on the judo forums by calling it a kata since its not formal judo cirruculum -- but whatever you call it, it remains a singularly impressive piece of work -- there is also another (to me less interesting) contoversial "kata" from europe called hikomi kata - you can see abit here:

I liked the hikomi sequence. I read some of the discussion about it on judoforum and I'm torn like most people seem to be. I like the idea of new katas being developed, but I think official "______-no-kata" should come from the kodokan. There needs to be a way to give a new sequence a title without the implication that it is a formal kata from the kodokan.
The "rewind" aspect is a bit odd, but on the whole, mesmerizing.
Although not as mesmerizing as two alarmingly attractive Swedish girls doing judo.
And this isn't some smutty, "Look! Scantily clad hot babes rolling around and doing 'judo'!" sort of video. It's honest-to-goodness judo. This is just what judo happens to look like in Sweden.
