Another forum I'm has had a couple of great threads regarding pocket knives. So.... What's your daily carry knife, favorite in the kitchen and outdoors?

My daily carry knife is an Emerson CQC-7B with the wave opener.

Click here for a demo of the wave opener. The knife is fully closed in the pocket, and the little hook on the thumb ramp is used to catch the corner of your pocket, opening the blade. I admit this is probably the feature I love the most, and will probably be stuck by from Emerson because of it. You can choose to utilize it or not. It will tear the corner of your pockets up, but I can cope with that. I'd like to trade up to a Super Commander one of the days.

In the kitchen, I'm a big fan of the JA Henckles Twin Pro-S Series knives. I also like Victorinox (Swiss Army Knife people) for some of their kitchen knives, especially their paring knives.

If I'm headed to the woods, I carry either a Swiss Champ or Gerber MultiTool. I also carry Gerber's LMF II Infantry model when I'm backpacking.

I am a big fan of Strider Knives (except for the price). However, there is a Buck knife designed by Strider that is extremely high quality. They are originally sold for $160, but who is going to pay that knd of money for a Buck knife?? They are now discontinued and you can get them for less than $60 online.....I picked one up and I love it....

I carry a foldable utility knife on my utility belt along with my utlity phone. 🙂 JK. I use it every day and it's more dependable and sharper than anything else I've ever had. I only had to use it in self-defense once. I was living in NC (years ago) and one of the guys on the crew took exception to something I said in regards to Dale Earnhart. No offense race fans, but the guy was a bit of a bully. All I did was scratch the back of his hand when he tried to cut me.

I quit the same day. It doesn't do to have a row with the foreman. I suppose I should have let him cut me instead. Actually, what I really should have done was keep my mouth shut. It was a stupid way to loose a job and potentially go to jail.

I've had an amazing week. Somehow, I managed to lose two out of the three clip screws on my Emerson. This rendered the pocket clip.... well, unusable. May favorite carry knife of all time has been resigned to my desk all week.

The screws are some oddball dimension that I haven't been able to locate anywhere. So I placed an order for the replacement screws and a new pocket clip while I was at it. In the meantime, I picked up my old Emerson designed Balisong, which doesn't have the cool "remote pocket opener" (aka wave feature).

I've been missing that little feature all week. My package arrived from California today, and my trusty CQC-7B is back in my pocket where it belongs.
