Seoi-Otoshi
This is a neat little seoi-otoshi that utilizes our hip-switching abilities from Aikido. Please keep in mind that "drop" throws are typically performed only after consulting your partner, and they agree 😄 Begin in normal grips. Tori (right) steps back with the left foot.

As your left foot begins to load weight, execute a hip-switch just like in the walking kata in Aikido. Forget my goofy expression, but my camera guru Chris Wilson yelled freeze to catch the hip switch mid-action.

Completing the hip-switch. Turn 180 degrees. As you hip switch, your center continues to move but you cover no additional distance. Uke, on the other hand, covers additional distance while you are switching. This provides the tsukuri (fitting) action:

Drop to your right knee, straight down. If you watch Karl's DVD on Essential Points in (Judo) Kata Presentation, the dropping action is alot like uki-otoshi:
