Uchi Mata
Here's some video of a very popular competition throw. The first video is like an Uchi mata highlight with lots of variation and set-ups, but the music track has some objectional lyrics. Be forewarned.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8W0lFtUs ... yoshida%20In a lot of these uchimata videos tori uses a hooked leg to throw. Is this the preferred method? Since it is supposed to be an ashi waza throw I would assume we'd use the same toe-pointed straight leg we reap with. Perhaps dig your toes into the mat and whip your leg up?
Anybody have any thoughts?
Pretty much all ashi waza should be executed with a pointed toe. The exception are the -gake techniques which are geared toward the heel leading the movement. Uchi mata is definitely a toe-pointed reaping action.
