Back at you, Nick-sensei
I would like to thank everyone for their hospitality, friendship and enthusiasm. Top to bottom, you all made us out-of-towners feel welcome and cared for. It was great examining the ura-waza and variations with everyone’s input. It will be interesting to work on closing up, and opening up, all the holes that we identified in the various techniques. Jim and Kitty and George Spriggs all gave me time and plenty to practice. I appreciated the chance to train with the Jodo group, and especially the stalwarts who worked through lunch on Friday. Thanks also to Tristan for graciously turning over the Iaido class and working so hard. Most of all, my deepest gratitude and admiration to Nick-sensei, whose effort, sacrifice and integrity has created a great event and community. I look forward to next time.

The Intensive was an absolute blast! Saw some old friends, made some new ones. Saw old material in a fresh light. Found a fair amount of mischief in some of the Aikido ura-waza. Looking forward to refining it a bit more. Great info from Jack on the classical Jyodo. Great watching a couple of young Judo guys working with each other and discovering some really juicy stuff off a new drill from Sean. Just awesome.
