super-cool hip throw practice
We had such a great class today I thought i'd tell y'all about it.You know how your progress seems to go in steps and plateaus? Well, I think today was one of those quantum leaps for Todd. We worked on ogoshi and seoinage with particular emphasis on ukemi - how to turn an otherwise onerous thing to practice into a survivable, and even enjoyable light breakfall. Then we moved into a sequence that went like this:
(ogoshi or seoi) to ukigatame to kesagatame to (any kesa escape)
This improved his flow from standing to ground and really tied his green belt skills together for him better than all our previous practices. It seems like all the practices we've done before came together and really paid off in today's practice.
I am pumped!
