Note from old judo student friend Dustin Keener
heres a note i got on facebook from Dustin-- thought ya'll might like it (i deleated the name of the dallas dojo so as to make no hard feelings) --I particularly like his refernce to Chuck--

Hey Nick,
Thanks for writing back. I do have one quick story to share with you ( and you might relay it to anyone coming this way ). When I first moved to Dallas, I decided to work out with some of the ****** guys ( I didnt know anywhere else to go at first ). That first night I wish I could have made a CD of the "internal dialogue" going through my head.

"You're ready for this"
"You don't compete anymore, you aren't a threat to their ego's, They'll take it easy on you"
"You outweigh everyone there by at least 70 lbs."
and last and most importantly the tract that played the loudest
"Chuck took care of you since day one and of all the things Chuck is good at he's the best at making sure his guys don't have to take that S*I* !!"

Two things were confirmed that night: 1. The guys from that school are at least every bit as dangerous as I was led to believe"

2. Those were very nice gentlemen that TRIED to play well. It certainly wasn't a lot of guys trying to show what "bad asses" they were. These guys were scary because they didn't know any better. It was kind of sad really. They lamented about how a lot their guys were always banged up come tournament time. Anyway, just a tid bit from many years ago.

Take Care

Dustin
