Hi John -- i was mainly intersted in looking at his combatives work and since he has a new video on this i thought it might stimualte some sales for him hopefully -- nick

Excellent Nick,
The combatives program is geared to help anyone even without any previous martial arts training to have some level of response to being brought to the ground and surviving and escaping or even controlling if need be their attacker.The combatives are based on 36 techniques that they have studied from their huge video archives of the Gracie challenges and fights that give the highest percentage of success. It has attracted many martial artists of many styles that have an interest in self defense not sport play on the ground.With regular practice it can be quickly mastered in 6 months giving the practitioner a functional arsenal of practical options. I will convey this to him and I'm sure he will be happy to share this program with us.Thanks again Nick for allowing Rener to share with us this program.This will be a great experience for everyone that participates....and best of all it's free to our dojo members!!!!

Many, many thanks to John for putting this together. Rener was very impressive -- one of the finest technicians I've encountered. I thoroughly enjoyed his approach to teaching, and found it very refreshing. I was amazed that he was able to learn the names of everyone in the room (and prove it!) in the short time we had together.

I second Kyle's thoughts. Very Awesome experience.

Rener's technical groundwork work is in a caliber with Berliner or Moose-- very impressive indeed-- masterful job with the name trick too (probably mneumonic device work i'd guess)

I asked him after class how he was able to do the name trick, and he said there was a trick to it. Still very impressive. I teach school, and it takes a me a couple of days to get everyone's name down.

I enjoyed it thoroughly and learned more than just the techniques he was teaching. I always enjoy watching / studying successful people when I get the chance, how they carry themselves, interact with people, speak, etc. Many times I notice the same traits in them. Rener was no different. He is a great ambassador and representative for his family.

I really liked the way the drills flowed between partners, and really liked how they were coached :this is where you stop and this is how you check your partner's technique safely. The word that comes to mind is refined, and I mean that in the truest definition. Some of the details were clearly the result of several guys spending a lot of time rolling on the ground, improving and improving and improving.

Hey fellow Windsond brothers and sisters,
Rener had a blast meeting everyone and doing the seminar . He does not do civilian seminars and only does military programs around the world. His main emphasis is civilian teaching through the internet and DVD's which are excellent. We are very fortunate to have him teach us at our dojo. He would like to return in the near future perhaps in several months. If anyone is interested in reviewing and training the combatives program perhaps with Nick's approval on friday night we can begin training.
If anyone is interested please let Nick know and perhaps with his approval we can review the program. I would sure love to see him teach us the advanced program which blew the socks of the jiujitsu instructors that attended on saturday. They all made comments that they had never been taught the details nor the approach to teaching/learning that made their jiujitsu work.

The wife has nixed by friday kitchen pass. Sorry.
