Keikgo and Vinegar
After hearing john's recommendation to soak my new keikgo in a water/vinegar solution before washing and wearing I decided to do a little searching around on the ol' internet. And sure enough most kendo folks and alike recommend a vinegar or ammonia soak right out of the package. This helps keep the dye from bleeding out during washing and turning yourself into a smurf during class. The majority of places I came across said to use a 1/2 cup of vinegar for every gallon of water, and let soak over night.
