Kaze Uta Budo Kai is proud to be a part of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Twelve Winds Foundation.

As a nonprofit organization, we can focus on the teaching and passing along of true, principle-centered budo, rather than taking as much of your money as possible.

Our Mission

The mission of Twelve Winds Foundation is to provide self-defense training and foster the development of martial arts for teens and adults in our community and beyond. We teach arts that empower the body, awaken the mind, and enlighten the spirit. Our goal is to spread the life-changing principles of budo throughout our community and beyond.

Kaze Uta Budo Kai is committed to practices and traditions that are based firmly on the established Budo principles “Jita Kyoei” (you, me, shine together, i.e. mutual welfare and benefit), “Seiryoku Zenyo” (best use of energy, i.e. maximum efficiency with minimum effort). All Budo instruction offered is given freely, passed on from teacher to student—not sold as a service or product.

With time, practice, and patience, we believe the budo arts will transform the lives of our students in the following ways:

  • A dynamic and internalized self-defense
  • Improved health and vitality
  • Enhanced confidence and self-respect
  • A path towards life harmony
  • A strategy of non-violence and inner peace
  • A new-found sense of wholeness
  • Friendship and a sense of community

How You Can Help

Unfortunately, the realities of the world demand that we pay the creditors and bill collectors. Your tax-deductible donation will go towards helping with our mission in the following ways:

  • Paying for the equipment necessary for the ongoing production of our 700+ open source YouTube videos. These videos are used as free training tools for students all over the world.
  • Upkeep on the physical plant of the dojo.
  • The development and maintenance of Kaze Uta Budo Kai’s online presence (website, social media, self-promotion, etc.).
  • Research toward the development of tangible educational resources, such as future publication of books and DVDs.
  • Travel expenses for seminars that foster education, outreach, and community building.
  • Providing ranking certificates and technical verification.
  • Assistance for students who may be unable to pay for classes.

2018 Fall Reunion Seminar

Date(s)

October 13-14, 2018

Location

Windsong Dojo, Oklahoma City, OK

Cost

A $30 donation is requested. This covers a BBQ dinner Saturday night as well as a weekend of camaraderie and budo instruction from some top-notch practitioners.

Please RSVP if you are planning to attend, so we know how much food to order.

Details

We are planning for this one to be a reunion clinic. So many of us more “seasoned” practitioners have a lot of wisdom and techniques to pass down to the newer students so they can benefit from the things we learned the hard way. Plus, it will be a great chance for us all to catch up with old friends and make some new ones in the process.

This clinic will be less structured than our spring clinic. Since one of our goals is to share knowledge, we plan to open the floor up to questions. Attendees are also encouraged to email us beforehand if you have a topic/question that you would like to see covered – or that you would like to teach – at the clinic.

If you have any questions/comments/suggestions, please let us know via email at info@windsongdojo.com.

Follow us on Facebook for more updates.

Hope you can join us for a fun weekend of budo and friendship!
